Candu Energy Inc. is seeking a full-time Senior Engineering Director for its Buenos Aires office. This role supports the Cernavoda 3 and 4 New Build and Monark development program, responsible for delivering internal engineering work and reporting to the VP and Sr. Director, Candu International.

This position requires a short-term relocation to our Argentina office.

  • The successful candidate will lead the utilization of engineering personnel assigned to them.
  • They will be responsible for technical integration and interface control within internal client projects and different technical groups in the Buenos Aires office.
  • The individual will ensure that qualified and appropriate staff are working on projects, assigned tasks align with their experience and skills.
  • They will provide guidance, technical insights, supervision, and feedback to the Engineering Managers under their team.
  • Oversight of technical deliverables budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Ensuring final deliverables meet customer requirements specified in the contract and overall alignment with nuclear codes and standards.
  • Reviewing and approving or delegating the approval of key technical documentation under their supervision.
  • Liaising with external clients at the behest of the Project Engineering Directors regarding technical matters.

We offer a competitive salary package of $140,000 - $170,000 CAD per annum, flexible benefits, an employee share plan, and a defined contribution pension plan. The ideal candidate should have:

  • A university degree in an applicable field of engineering or science.
  • At least 15 years of applicable engineering experience including experience prior to engineering management roles.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, qualified to seal engineering documents in a relevant field of engineering, or eligible to obtain such registration within 6 months of hiring.
  • Sound knowledge of multiple engineering fields and nuclear technologies.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing engineering scopes of work on complex technical projects, leadership, and project management of a highly technical group.
  • Demonstrated business acumen – the ability to think, plan, and negotiate strategically with a strong commercial orientation and good understanding of financial measurements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Level 2 security clearance.
  • Experience in executing projects subject to import/export controls.
  • Experience in managing subconsultants and work sharing with other offices within a company or joint venture.
  • Working knowledge of construction methods, building systems, and terminology.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian and EU regulatory practices.
