About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Burnaby Lake Child Care. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement engaging child-care programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of children, promoting their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Lead activities that foster creativity, imagination, and learning, such as storytelling, singing, and outings to local attractions.
  • Child Support: Assist children in developing essential life skills, including eating, dressing, and toilet habits, while promoting independence and self-confidence.
  • Observation and Reporting: Monitor children's progress, identifying potential learning or behavioral issues, and prepare comprehensive reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and community service providers, ensuring a cohesive and supportive environment for children.
  • Environment and Safety: Plan and maintain a secure and healthy environment that protects the well-being of children, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements and Preferences
  • Education: A College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
  • Experience: Previous experience in early childhood education is an asset.
  • Personal Qualities: Reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to providing exceptional care and education.
