About the Role:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Alberta Health Services, you will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be part of an interprofessional healthcare team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to deliver exceptional care to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Float to shifts in all three Mackenzie Place units as staffing needs require, including on short notice.
  • Assess client needs and provide nursing care that is reflective of your level of education and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team and in a leadership role on the Supportive Living units to create partnerships with clients, families, and coworkers that lead to the best outcomes and enhance client quality of life.
  • Maintain competency through ongoing professional development and adhere to AHS policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the charge role and supervising unregulated healthcare professionals.
  • Experience dealing with the entire age spectrum, including seniors.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Supportive Pathways and/or PIECES training.

What We Offer:

A competitive rate of pay and a Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 per year, payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
