About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Veterinarian to lead our team and provide exceptional animal care at the Toronto Humane Society.

Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals. As a Lead Veterinarian, you will oversee the provision of high-quality veterinary care, train and mentor veterinarians and students, and contribute to the development of efficient processes within the assigned work area.

The successful candidate will have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, 5 years of experience as a primary care clinician, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in community-focused veterinary care. A strong ability to communicate effectively, prioritize tasks, and manage conflicting demands is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and foster an environment of teamwork and cooperation within the medical care department
  • Train and develop veterinarians and students
  • Contribute to the cultivation of a culture of fearless feedback
  • Provide quality medical, tele-medical, surgical, and dental care for animals
  • Make appropriate decisions while practicing evidence-based medicine
Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
  • Veterinary licensure in good standing to practice in Ontario
  • 5 years of experience as a primary care clinician
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in community-focused veterinary care
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes comprehensive health and dental insurance, a generous paid time off policy, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $135,000 based on industry standards and location.
