About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Ausenco. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for various projects, including mining and utility projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and communication networks.
  • Conduct technical evaluations, cost estimates, and options analysis for new equipment or modifications to existing equipment and systems.
  • Ensure design work interfaces with that of other disciplines, including mechanical, civil, and structural engineering.
  • Recommend changes in plans and specify estimated costs.
  • Consult with other departments, suppliers, and contractors to clarify specifications.
  • Evaluate supplier's proposals and deliverable documentation.
  • Help prepare technical reports, tender documentation, and field support, including commissioning and site inspection.
  • Ensure that engineering deliverables comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures, and sound engineering practices.
  • Review drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with QA/QC programs.
  • Direct and mentor junior staff.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in design and development of electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A recognized undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC or eligibility to do so.
  • 4-7 years' experience in design of electrical systems within mining, municipal, utility, and transportation projects.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and familiarity with international standards.
  • Experience with building electrical systems, including fire alarms, security, lighting, and communications.
  • Familiarity with power system study software, such as ETAP, SKM, or Easy Power.
  • Construction site service experience and working directly with clients.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, planning and organizing abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A strong team player with the ability to work independently.
