Job Title: Early Developmental Support Worker

We are seeking two (2) contract, full-time Early Developmental Support Workers to join our team at Linck Child, Youth & Family Supports. The successful candidates will provide preventative and intervention services to children in a childcare environment to enhance their daily living skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to children with physical, cognitive, behavioral, or emotional difficulties in a childcare setting.
  • Work collaboratively with childcare staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Travel to various childcare locations throughout the municipality of Chatham-Kent.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • An Early Childhood Education diploma, Developmental Services Worker diploma, Educational Assistant/Support diploma, Practical Nursing diploma, or post-secondary education in a related discipline.
  • Up to three (3) months related experience.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and staff.
  • Courtesy and tact required in explaining, exchanging information with clients and staff.
  • Computer and keyboarding skills.
  • A valid drivers license and use of a personal vehicle.
  • The ability to communicate in French is an asset.
  • Lifting may be required.
  • Preference will be given to persons with a strong understanding and extensive experience working with other cultures, heritages, and traditions.
