Royalty Accounting Manager

Responsibilities:
  • Manage one direct report.
  • Review, interpret, and set up licensing and development contracts, including:
  • Contractual term and condition interpretation.
  • Contract setup and updates in the Alliant Royalty System.
  • Capitalization feasibility assessment in relation to EA's policy.
  • Effective versus contractual royalty rate analysis.
  • Development expense advance amortization calculation.
  • Participation in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and analysis.
  • Assistance in compiling management reporting packages and analysis.
  • Compliance with all financial commitments and obligations, including:
  • Prepaid advances.
  • Development milestone payments.
  • Minimum guarantees.
  • Royalty statements and disbursements.
  • Reconciliation of Prepaid Royalties and Royalty Payable Accounts.
  • Accurate preparation and distribution of assigned Royalty Accounting reports to business partners.
  • Participation in monthly close meetings.
  • Maintenance of assigned audit schedules.
  • Participation in forecasting and annual planning process for royalties.
  • Assessment of Royalty Accounting processes, procedures, and policies for continuous improvement and recommendations.
  • Enhancement of Royalty Accounting's relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Special projects as assigned, including ad hoc reports, third-party audits, support for new initiatives, system implementation or upgrade.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (CPA or MBA a plus).
  • Minimum of 6+ years of accounting experience.
  • US GAAP experience.
  • People management experience, including hiring, training (mentoring a plus).
  • Royalty accounting experience a plus.
  • System administration or superuser experience a plus.

This role requires a strong understanding of royalty accounting principles, processes, and systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing direct reports, reviewing and interpreting contracts, and ensuring compliance with financial commitments and obligations. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.
