Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in the Emergency department at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency department, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients in accordance with the hospital policies and the BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia. You will work collaboratively with the Emergency/Intensive Care Unit Patient Care Coordinator to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Emergency department
  • Collaborate with the Emergency/Intensive Care Unit Patient Care Coordinator to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of patients to identify their needs and develop plans to meet those needs
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes or concerns to the Emergency/Intensive Care Unit Patient Care Coordinator
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to patient care
Requirements
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant
  • Post-graduate certification in Emergency Nursing or Critical Care Nursing or a minimum of one year's recent related experience in an Emergency or ICU setting or an equivalent combination of training and experience acceptable to the hospital
  • Current certification in CPR - Basic Rescuer level required. Current ACLS certification preferred
  • All Specially Trained Nursing Skills (STN) related to the unit of employment must be completed within six (6) months of employment
