Tile Setter

Penguin Basements Ltd. is seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered with tile. You will also mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel. Your tasks will include setting tiles in place and applying pressure to affix them to the base, aligning and straightening tiles, and preparing tenders and quotations. Additionally, you will cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools, pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout, remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles, lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs, cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite, and estimate costs and materials. You will work in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling, and working with your hands. You must be able to distinguish between colors, have attention to detail, and possess hand-eye coordination. You will work in a team environment and be a hard worker. The work term is permanent, and the work language is English. The hours of work are 30 to 40 hours per week. The company offers a dental plan and healthcare plan. The work site environment is dusty and noisy, and the work setting is residential. The tasks require a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
