Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at QNX Software Systems. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth and success of our global software business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate various legal agreements, including contracts and memoranda of understanding.
  • Provide legal support on a wide range of matters, including regulatory compliance, intellectual property issues, and marketing/advertising.
  • Conduct legal research and provide recommendations to senior members of the legal department.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate legal risks and advance business initiatives.
  • Develop and implement effective legal strategies to support the company's business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Up to 3 years of legal experience, preferably in a software or technology industry.
  • LLB or JD, and admission to practice law in Ontario.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent drafting skills and oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with great attention to detail and to embrace constructive feedback.
