Adecco Canada is currently hiring a full-time Independent Contractor for the role of Senior Environmental Compliance Business Consultant with a strong background in emissions reporting and environmental compliance to join our client's team in Calgary, AB.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting of emissions metrics. Your expertise in regulatory frameworks, data management, and environmental reporting systems will be invaluable assets to our team.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Environmental Compliance Business Consultant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and participating in process reviews or development and updates to associated documentation, working with stakeholders
  • Participating in standards and process creation, reviews, updates, development, and documentation
  • Delivering and/or participating in standards, policies, or process education and awareness
  • Succesfully engaging, driving, and facilitating multiple initiatives and deliverables simultaneously
  • Working independently with users to define concepts or workflows under the direction of project managers
  • Developing requirements specifications according to standard templates using natural language
  • Collaborating with project team members, including subject matter experts, to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs
  • Being the liaison between the project teams, technology teams, and support teams
  • Managing and executing on required stakeholder and client engagement across project deliverables to support project plan and scope outline
  • Collaborating with project team members to progress the project forward as per project plan and scope outline
  • Working closely with People Readiness team (OCM, Communications, Learning) to help identify/validate stakeholder change impacts, provide technical review of communications, and contribute to training curriculum and learning content
  • Managing and participating in Transition to Operations scope and activities for services and/or products built by the project team
  • Eliciting requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis
  • Critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts, decomposing high-level information into details, abstracting up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishing user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Proactively communicating and collaborating with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: functional requirements (business requirements document), use cases, workflow diagrams, and context diagrams
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • Be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
  • Have at least 10 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar capacity
  • Have direct working experience or project experience in business areas or functions related to environmental compliance
  • Oil & Gas/Energy industry experience would be considered an asset
  • Organization and relationship-building skills
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Displays emotional intelligence, demonstrating self-awareness, and remains calm under pressure
