Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Transit Driver to join our team in Beeton & New Tecumseth, ON. As a Transit Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a bus and providing excellent customer service to our passengers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a bus in a safe and courteous manner, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a strong attendance record and perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required.
  • Assist passengers with disabilities and ensure their safe boarding and securing in wheelchairs or scooters.
  • Notify dispatch of any deviations, accidents, or mechanical issues.
  • Collect fares and provide information to passengers as needed.
  • Complete and submit written reports concerning passengers and accidents.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Class BZ or CZ driving license, clear driver abstract, and background check.
  • First Aid certification and transit experience an asset.
  • Good verbal communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet strict timelines.
  • Must be able to work rotating shift hours, including weekends.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes in schedule and route.
  • Subject to wet, cold, and/or hot environmental conditions.
  • Subject to vehicle noise and vibration while operating transit vehicle.
  • Subject to vehicle exhaust fumes and odors, road dusts, and mist.
