Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Fraser Health. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing ultrasound examinations on patients, observing patient safety practices, and working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular, small parts, and echocardiography ultrasound examinations
  • Observe patient safety practices and ensure a safe working environment
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care
  • Participate in maintaining patient and hospital records
  • Participate in team/department activities to enhance and optimize the delivery of care

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a recognized training program in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography and Diagnostic General Sonography
  • Certified with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Completion of Intravenous Therapy training course or applicable experience working in IV Therapy
