Electrical Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team at CIMA+. As a key member of our Protection and Control (P&C) team, you will play a critical role in the design and implementation of clean energy projects related to hydroelectric facilities.
Job DescriptionAs an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing control and protection engineering for various systems and equipment, including:
- Control, measurement, monitoring, and protection systems for turbine-generator sets
- Genset instrumentation: analog instrumentation cabinets or digital systems
- Computerized power plant control networks
- Interface with speed controllers, pump units, and static exciters
- Remote control of discharge valves and water intakes
- Control of mechanical auxiliary systems (air, water, oil)
You will also develop electrical systems for control and protection, including single-line AC diagrams, protection and control diagrams, wiring drawings, device connections, assembly drawings, material lists, and cable lists. Additionally, you will draw up specifications for equipment manufacture and installation on site.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A university degree in electrical engineering
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- More than seven years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of electrical distribution, control, and protection
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Fluency in spoken and written French
- Fluency in written and spoken English in a professional context
