About the Role

Brunel is partnered with a reputable Oil and Gas producer seeking a field-based Health, Safety, and Environment Advisor to support their construction project in Grande Prairie on a 12-month contract (extendable).

Job Description

This role requires direct support to execution teams regarding the interpretation of applicable OHS Legislation, Industry standards & practices, H&S program components, and worker training requirements.

  • Provide expert guidance on programs, processes, and standards.
  • Assist in implementing the company's strategy and direction, ensuring goal alignment with the organization's priorities.
  • Participate in reviewing project-specific safety documents and contractor performance meetings.
  • Ensure H&S planning aligns with business strategy and growth plans.
  • Cultivate a culture of H&S ownership among team members.
  • Communicate timely and relevant H&S information to stakeholders.
  • Maintain safe performance of the Operational Integrity Management System (OIMS) and related H&S requirements.
  • Collaborate to develop and sustain an H&S capability platform tailored to business needs.
  • Share best practices, lessons learned, and improve knowledge management within the organization.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, ideally in Major Projects functions, specializing in H&S.
  • A combination of Field & Construction safety background.
  • OH&S Education such as NCSO, CRSP or CRST.
  • A Class 5 (non-GDL) driver's license or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years performing safety audits and inspections.
  • Strong Health & Safety management system technical knowledge.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Ability to make decisions under tight timelines and pressures.
  • Capacity to search for understanding and find new solutions.
Estimated Salary

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
