About the Role

We're seeking a detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant, Surety to support our growing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Distribute department correspondence and maintain accurate records.
  • Order reports and references as directed by underwriters, ensuring timely completion.
  • Enter data into underwriting and billing systems with precision and efficiency.
  • Prepare and process contract bonds, renewals, riders, and legal documents with attention to detail.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Communicate with end-users regarding contract and project status, providing clear updates.
  • Review incoming bonds for compliance, accuracy, and completeness, ensuring seamless processing.
  • Respond to surety clerical audits, making necessary corrections or recommendations.
  • Calculate premiums for new, additional, return, and new business, ensuring accurate financial management.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or higher, with up to two years of experience in a related field.
  • Quick and accurate data entry skills, with proficiency in Microsoft software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a strong team spirit.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make decisions and work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage workflow efficiently, with minimal supervision.
  • Computer literacy, with knowledge of Microsoft software.
  • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Bilingual (French and English) required, with regular interaction with English-speaking clients and colleagues across Canada.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada, with no prior Canadian work experience necessary.
