Job Summary

This role involves providing personal assistance to patients in their homes or in health care facilities. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting activities of daily living, including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs. You will also work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide routine care and meet the unique needs of each patient.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal assistance to patients, including support with activities of daily living
  • Assist with organized activities or programs
  • Observe and report on patient mood, health, and wellbeing
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire
  • Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) through the Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle for business use
  • Basic computer skills with Windows operating system, including Outlook and MS Teams
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as paid time off and opportunities for professional development.
