Nurse Regional Practice Resource Specialist

- Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant is required.
- Positions assigned to support NSWOC nurses also require: Graduation from a recognized nursing program with Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification for Nurses who specialize in Wound, Ostomy and Continence, or completion of the International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Program or Masters in Wound Healing.
- Post-secondary courses in Adult Education, Process Improvement and/or Change Management are necessary.
- Three (3) or more years of direct experience in adult education, quality improvement and/or policy/procedural development are required.
- Experience working with Indigenous groups and fostering Indigenous relations with a focus on Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Actions is essential.
- Knowledge of program relevant legislation, policies and standards is necessary.
- Knowledge of current, evidence-based gerontological issues and standards is required.
- A valid BC Driver's License is necessary.
- An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
- The ability to provide leadership to staff and peers is essential.
- The ability to work independently is necessary.
- Effective interpersonal, organizational and teaching skills are required.
- The ability to communicate with clients and their families, physicians and colleagues from within Island Health as well as external organizations is necessary.
- The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is required.
- The physical ability to carry out the duties of the position is necessary.
