Fitness Instructor

Job Summary:
The City of Abbotsford is seeking a qualified Fitness Instructor to teach Group Fitness classes at our recreation centers. As a Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for planning and executing fitness classes that promote physical and mental well-being for our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and instruction to patrons in a professional and effective manner.
- Plan and deliver well-structured fitness classes that cater to diverse populations.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all class participants.
- Enforce rules and regulations of the fitness facilities.
- Provide high-quality customer service and maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
- Communicate effectively with the Fitness Supervisor team and other staff members.
Requirements:
- Current BCRPA or equivalent Group Fitness certification.
- Standard First Aid, CPR 'C' & AED certification.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to apply theoretical knowledge in anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of fitness equipment and standard care procedures.
What We Offer:
The City of Abbotsford offers a competitive hourly rate of pay, starting at $23.61, with rates varying depending on certifications. This is a term contract opportunity, and we require a satisfactory criminal record check.
