Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer - Electrical to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for medical devices and associated capital hardware.

  • You will participate in the research and development of electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBA), and electrical systems for medical devices and associated capital hardware.
  • You will own full lifecycle design of mixed power, embedded computing, and interconnect PCAs. Test designs at the PCA and system level using relevant test tools. Engage with vendors productively. Clearly document analyses, architectural decisions, and test results.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in the research and development of electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBA), and electrical systems for medical devices and associated capital hardware.
  • Own full lifecycle design of mixed power, embedded computing, and interconnect PCAs. Test designs at the PCA and system level using relevant test tools. Engage with vendors productively. Clearly document analyses, architectural decisions, and test results.
  • Takes part in planning, designing, development, testing, and design reviews of electronic and electrical systems for medical devices and associated capital hardware.
  • Participate in and lead design reviews and analyses (safety, reliability, failure, etc.) to develop robust architectures driven by simulation, analysis, and testing. Provide detailed architecture, schematic, and layout review to peers.
  • Influence planning, timelines, and goals for projects including new technology and process development.
  • Influence system architecture and participate in testing for medical safety and compliance per IEC60601-1 and related standards.
  • Provides feedback on electrical test requirements to the manufacturing test team as required.
  • Coordinates with firmware teams on correct electrical system implementation in software.
  • Utilizes test equipment to conduct experimental tests, evaluate electronic designs, and perform design verification.
  • Creates test reports to document work results.
  • Embraces the Design Control process by participating in design reviews and maintaining design history files.
  • Participates in evaluating the reliability of materials, properties, and techniques used in production.
  • Mentor and guide engineers with varying levels of experience. Effectively collaborate with peers beyond electrical engineering.
  • Confirms completion of required training plan before assuming job responsibilities. Ensures work is performed in compliance with company policies including Privacy/HIPAA and other regulatory, legal, and safety requirements.
