Job Description

This position plays a vital role in developing connectivity solutions for high-speed data transmission and cloud-based services. As a key member of our team, you will participate in the software development life cycle, from development through delivery to end customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in C, C++ software development of new functionality in various software components for devices on a real-time OS.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel to consult and resolve problems.
  • Work with product verification and test teams to resolve issues and ensure efficient large-scale software releases.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and possess expertise in Embedded C, C++, Python programming languages, and fundamentals of structured programming and design concepts. Experience with low-level Real-Time Software/Firmware Development, Real-time operating systems, and CPU Hardware architectures is an asset.

Benefits and Compensation

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $76,440 - $121,200 CAD. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
