Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of electrical systems and equipment in our manufacturing facilities. As an Electrician, you will be part of a team that maintains, repairs, and installs electrical systems, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, and motion control systems.
  • Install and maintain electrical services and equipment, adhering to local, provincial, and national codes.
  • Develop and implement Planned Maintenance Programs to ensure reliable and cost-effective performance of electrical equipment.
  • Provide training and direction to production personnel on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment and systems, ensuring they meet performance specifications.
  • Document problems, findings, and solutions, sharing them with the maintenance and engineering team.
  • Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Planner to develop and modify Planned Maintenance Programs.
  • Prepare requisitions and source components for electrical materials as required.
  • Perform job costing and material requirements for electrical projects.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel as needed and be willing to accept call-ins.
  • Work shift assignments as required and provide shift coverage when needed.
  • Provide remote support to plant operations using communication networks.
  • Attend training courses and seminars to maintain technical skills related to electrical trade.
  • Ensure accurate time charging to cost centers or internal order numbers using the work order system.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner, paying attention to hazards and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Assist Engineering with capital and expense projects as required.
  • Contribute to a team effort within the department, assisting fellow employees in achieving daily objectives.
Requirements
  • Electrician license (442A or 309A)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills
  • Experience in manufacturing, preferably 1-3 years or more related to the packaged goods industry
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the Rockwell Automation platform
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of various software packages, including Outlook, Windows, Word, Excel, SAP, RSLogix, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, RSLinx, RSNetWorx, Ultraware, Endress+Hauser DeviceCare, Cognex In-Sight Explorer, and Keyence IV Navigator
