Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Health Information Processing Clerk to join our team at the Interior Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing clerical duties related to the preparation, maintenance, and storage of patient information in both paper and electronic formats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quantitative analysis to ensure the accuracy of patient records
  • Monitor and maintain an electronic tracking system for deficient patient charts
  • Prepare and type technical and non-technical material for managers and physicians, including memos, correspondence, medical reports, and meeting minutes
  • Retrieve, organize, and file patient records, reports, and other documents
  • Answer inquiries regarding patient information in accordance with legislative statutes, IHA policies, and established procedures
  • Perform data entry functions for various clinical registries and databases
  • Assist physicians in completing patient documentation by performing quantitative analysis
  • Provide reception duties, including answering phones, transferring calls, taking messages, and directing visitors to appropriate areas
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Completion of a Medical Terminology course
  • Two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Completion of a 5-minute typing test with a speed of 55 wpm or greater, dated within the past 48 months, and issued from a valid institution
