We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Coordinator to join our team at The Pod Group. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and organized individual with a passion for finance to work closely with our Manager of Finance & Accounting. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Processing accounts payable and receivable in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and not-for-profit accounting standards.
  • Preparing general ledger transactions, including journal entries, recurring entries, accruals, and allocation of prepaid expenses.
  • Generating reports for internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Reconciling balance sheet and income statement analysis to ensure accuracy.
  • Verifying authorization and obtaining supporting documentation before processing invoices.
Priorities

Your focus will be on maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with internal financial and accounting policies, and providing timely and responsive support to our team. This includes:

  • Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
  • Updating payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, saving deductions, job title, and department transfers.
  • Terminating employees and preparing ROE in ADP.
  • Preparation of reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in finance/accounting.
  • A Diploma/Certificate in Accounting or related field.
  • A working knowledge of overall accounting standards, practices, and procedures.
  • An understanding of accounting functions in a not-for-profit environment.
  • Demonstrated high level of trust, integrity, and work ethic.
Estimated Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per annum
