As a skilled communicator, the incumbent will develop and implement measurable communication plans, generate storytelling ideas, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to assess their corporate communication needs.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Communications professional to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in marketing, communication, journalism, or public relations, with up-to-date knowledge of best practices in strategic communication planning and theory. They will consult with the Senior Communications Advisors when necessary and apply their expertise to support the department's brand standards and strategic corporate communication needs.

Main Responsibilities

Develops and implements strategic communication plans that support the overall corporate objectives of St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton;
Liaises with internal and external stakeholders to understand and advise on communication needs;
Partners with multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure consistency of messaging in all materials;
Writes and communicates effectively using strategic and measurable communication tactics to reach distinct audiences across multiple media platforms;
Monitors the effectiveness of communication strategies and makes recommendations for improvement;
Reviews and edits all print and web materials ensuring branding guidelines are adhered to;

Required Qualifications

Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field;
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Corporate Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations;
Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize work to meet conflicting demands;
An understanding of the healthcare system is preferred.
