Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Truck and Coach Mechanic to join our team at Holcim. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of trucks and coaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks and coaches, including inspections, diagnostic tests, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Manage work orders and assist in cost tracking, invoice reconciliation, and third-party repair pricing.
- Coordinate with area plants superintendents and dispatchers for scheduling of routine maintenance and repair, and annual inspections.
- Perform work on trucks and coaches yourself, as well as schedule outside vendors as needed.
Requirements
- Valid Truck and Coach (T) License.
- Valid DZ Drivers License with a clean abstract (asset).
- Own Hand Tools and Tool Box.
- Ready mix experience with London and McNelius mixers (asset).
- Welding and Hydraulic systems experience (asset).
- Experience with Theam/Ready mix concrete conveyors (asset).
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Fleet experience preferred.
- Computer knowledge utilizing email and Microsoft Excel (asset).
Physical Demands of the Role
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs & ladders, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and smell.
- Infrequently required to work in awkward situations, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
