Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to serve as the Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs. This key leadership position plays a critical role in supporting the academic mission of the university by providing strategic guidance and oversight for all academic personnel functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all academic personnel functions, including recruitment, appointment, promotion, and tenure.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to faculty affairs, including collective bargaining agreements.
  • Collaborate with academic deans, department chairs, and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of faculty personnel policies and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on faculty personnel matters to the Provost, deans, and department chairs.
  • Supervise and manage the Academic Personnel Services staff.
  • Participate in Faculty Governance and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to faculty affairs.
  • Develop and manage budgets and financial plans related to faculty personnel functions.
  • Coordinate and supervise all academic personnel-related procedures and provide policy interpretations to department chairs, committees, academic deans, and the Provost.
Requirements
  • Terminal degree in a relevant field.
  • Successful university teaching experience, service, and a record of scholarly/creative activity suitable for a tenured professor faculty appointment.
  • At least three years of successful administrative experience and ethical leadership at or above the level of department chair.
  • Successful administrative experience at the college and/or university level.
  • Experience in academic personnel administration, policies, and procedures in a collective bargaining environment.
