Job Summary

Synnapex Inc., a leading provider of technology professional services and hardware solutions, seeks a highly experienced and results-driven Strategic Operations Director to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Operations for Smart Building Division: Spearhead all aspects of operations for Synnapex's smart building division, driving growth and excellence in the sector.
  • Transition to Branded Product Line: Oversee the transition from third-party OEM offerings to our branded product line, ensuring seamless integration and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop Smart Building Division: Formulate and implement value propositions to expand current business and cultivate new opportunities in the smart building and community sectors.
  • Build Outsourced Manufacturing Supply Chain: Collaborate with the President to establish a robust outsourced Chinese manufacturing supply chain network, ensuring efficient integration of suppliers, logistics, and manufacturing processes.
  • Plan Product Line Refinements: Analyze market trends and develop product line refinements and improvements, organizing the team to evaluate current product offerings for smart homes and smart communities.
  • Evaluate Manufacturing Partners: Actively lead the evaluation of potential Chinese tech product manufacturing partners, conducting due diligence on their quality assurance, innovation, and production capabilities.
  • Establish Manufacturing Partnerships: Establish manufacturing partnerships, supply chain management processes, and policies to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality assurance.
  • Oversee Product and Technical Issues: Resolve product and technical issues to ensure customer satisfaction, coordinating critical activities and delegating tasks to direct reporting.
  • Develop and Oversee Departmental Budget: Develop and oversee the annual departmental budget, ensuring efficient budget allocations and justifying any discrepancies or variances.
  • Implement Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement initiatives for operational workflows to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Provide Feedback and Coaching: Provide consistent feedback to middle managers and team members through departmental meetings, performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and developmental initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional department leaders to streamline workflows, resolve operational challenges, and align operations with overarching business strategy and objectives.
  • Negotiate Manufacturing Contracts: Establish partnerships with tech product manufacturers in China, negotiate favorable terms and pricing, and represent Synnapex in contract discussions.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or Similar Field: Possess a Master's degree in business administration, international trade, or a similar field.
  • Senior Operations Management Experience: 10+ years of experience in senior operations management for tech and hardware-related product manufacturing.
  • Outsourcing Manufacturing Expertise: Proficient in the intricacies of outsourcing manufacturing operations to China, including navigating regulatory frameworks, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and optimizing logistical processes for cost-effectiveness and quality assurance.
  • International Business Networks: Extensive expertise and business networks in international outsourcing, manufacturing from China, warehousing, logistics, purchasing, inventory forecasting and management, and plant facilities evaluation.
  • Strong Leadership Skills: Possess strong leadership skills with the ability to build cohesive teams, collaborate across departments, provide mentorship, and effectively manage personnel.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese is a strong asset but not a requirement.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in ISO, ERP, SaaS, Six Sigma, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strategic and Analytical Abilities: Possess excellent strategic, analytical, organizational, and prioritization abilities.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Demonstrated ability to navigate complex problem-solving situations and make well-informed decisions to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Executive Interface: Experience interfacing with high-level executives, clients, and agencies.
