Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse

At the University Health Network, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a safe and supportive environment.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating nursing care for patients and families within the RPN scope of practice. You will work collaboratively with the inter-professional care team to create a safe and effective care plan, and participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, manage, and evaluate nursing care for patients and families within the RPN scope of practice.
  • Participate in inter-professional team care planning forums, inter-professional rounds, and family conferences.
  • Provide mentorship to RPN students and new staff on the unit.
  • Participate in professional, program, and hospital-wide initiatives, including professional development of self.
  • Comply with and commit to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Diploma preparation as an RPN in a recognized education program for Nursing preferred.
  • Current medication certificate (if not included in diploma program).
  • Medical asepsis preferred (if not included in diploma program).
  • Experience in Complex Continuing Care preferred.
  • Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (C level) Heart Saver Plus (Canada).
  • Member, Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario (RPNAO), preferred.
