Recreation Facility Attendant

About the Role

The City of White Rock is seeking a Recreation Facility Attendant to join their team on a casual basis. As a Recreation Facility Attendant, you will be responsible for processing program registrations, supporting user groups and the public, and performing light custodial work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process program registrations and support user groups and the public
  • Perform light custodial work, including setting up and removing equipment and furniture
  • Supervise and assist in programs, enforce proper facility and equipment usage, and perform general clerical tasks
  • Assist with building security and maintain clerical records related to the work
  • Provide excellent customer service and work cooperatively in a team environment

Requirements

  • Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by some related experience, or completion of a certificate program in recreation, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Working knowledge of policies and regulations regarding municipal recreation facilities, equipment, and public conduct
  • Working knowledge of facility programs, schedules, and bookings
  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to work effectively with the public
  • Ability to exercise initiative and perform tasks without direct supervision
  • Ability to set up and remove equipment and furniture, and maintain clerical records
  • Proficiency in the use of computer systems related to the work, including Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to work cooperatively and amicably in a team environment with a safety-first attitude
  • Available to work shifts on days, evenings, and/or weekends
  • Xplor Software experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to successfully pass a Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check
