We are seeking a skilled Senior Construction Project Lead to join our team at Ontario Transit Group in downtown Toronto.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide project-specific leadership and management in subcontract administration, engineered equipment, site works, professional services, and permanent plant materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage construction project subcontract and material contract administration procedures from inception to completion.
  • Act as the single point of contact and accountability for overall subcontract and material contract administration.
  • Ensure contract handlers adhere to contract provisions and assist them with contract correspondence.
  • Oversee preparation of change orders, claims identification, and contract handler administration.
  • Manage all subcontract payment provisions and payment approvals.
  • Resolve subcontractor grievances and claims.
  • Review subcontractor claims and contracts for conformance to project policy.
  • Oversee administration of subcontract management systems.
  • Communicate and enforce subcontracting policies and procedures to the project team.
  • Provide training to ensure policies and procedures are followed.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, construction management, or an equivalent degree, and/or a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in engineering and/or construction, or equivalent work/field experience.
  • Knowledge of equipment and materials common in Design and Build projects.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian construction industry and the Ontario Construction Act.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, and highly motivated with a strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • A team player with the ability to also work independently to meet fixed deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge in risk evaluation, claims mitigation, and dispute resolution.
