About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating clinical knowledge to support the translation of knowledge to practice. This role requires collaboration with key stakeholders and demonstrates competency in practice, program design, and implementation.

The Clinical Nurse Educator will foster a culture of learning, build capacity, and support the advancement of professional practice through the implementation of orientation and ongoing education programs. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Nursing or Health Care/Education preferred, and a minimum of three years full-time clinical nursing experience within the last five years in Primary Health Care.

The successful candidate will also have relevant CNA/other specialty certification, BLS-C (HCP) certification, and experience with group facilitation, conflict management, and promoting learning cultures that nurture equity, diversity, and inclusivity.

We offer a competitive salary range of $49.80 - $59.44 hourly, with opportunities for professional development and a comprehensive benefits package.

Please note that this position requires periodic travel to facilities within Nova Scotia, and access to reliable transportation is required.

About You
  • Active practicing license in good standing with NSCN required
  • Relevant CNA/other specialty certification required or willingness to complete
  • Leadership Development Education an asset
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Previous teaching experience which involves designing, implementing and evaluating both traditional and non-traditional methods of instruction preferred
  • Recent experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator/Nursing Instructor preferred
  • Recent professional development relevant to maintaining currency in clinical practice and education
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with group facilitation preferred
  • Ability to manage conflict, stressful situations, and competing demands
  • Understanding of and experience with computer applications – Microsoft office applications, Skype for business, SharePoint
  • Physical demands – setting up rooms, walking and standing, movement of educational resources/tools with facilities and across sites
  • Skills and experience in promoting learning cultures that nurture equity, diversity and inclusivity with a focus on intersectional values, analysis, and actions, clinical humility, and the responsible use of power and privilege
