Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at ABM Childcare Center Ltd. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to our young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers with care and attention to their individual needs.
  • Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Engage children in activities that foster their creativity, curiosity, and love for learning, such as storytelling, singing, and crafting.
  • Prepare healthy snacks and arrange the play environment to ensure a safe and stimulating space for children.
  • Observe and record children's progress, sharing your findings with early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress, challenges, and successes.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Flexibility, judgement, reliability, and a team player attitude.
  • Creativity, honesty, and a commitment to providing high-quality care and education.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees
  • Support newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition.
  • Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and refugees with experienced employees.
Support for Youths
  • Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth.
Support for Indigenous People
  • Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
  • Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.

We offer a permanent work term, 35-40 hours per week, and a supportive work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
