We are seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to join our team at Active Fire & Safety Services Ltd. as a key member of our fire protection team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing sprinkler systems, as well as fabricating and installing pipes and fittings for commercial and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install sprinkler heads and mount prepared pipe in supports
  • Select, measure, cut, ream, and thread pipe
  • Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors, and control equipment
  • Install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipment, using hand and power tools
  • Join pipes and piping sections using soldering and welding equipment
  • Service and repair sprinkler system
  • Test system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment
  • Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
  • Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors, and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
  • Select type and size of pipe required
  • Test system for leaks using testing equipment
  • Weld, braze, cement, solder, and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a physically demanding job that requires attention to detail, handling heavy loads, and working in confined spaces.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
