Job Title: Pipe Fitter

We are seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to join our team at Active Fire & Safety Services Ltd. as a key member of our fire protection team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining sprinkler systems and other fire protection equipment in commercial, industrial, and institutional settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and test sprinkler systems, including pipes, fittings, and valves
  • Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors, and control equipment
  • Join pipes and piping sections using soldering and welding equipment
  • Service and repair sprinkler systems, including cleaning and maintaining pipe units and fittings
  • Test systems for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems
  • Select type and size of pipe required
  • Weld, braze, cement, solder, and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in pipe fitting and sprinkler system installation
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, wet/damp environments, and fast-paced environments
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding environments
  • Excellent oral communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
