Heavy Equipment Operator

As a Tractor Backhoe Operator with Volker Stevin Contracting, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our heavy equipment fleet. Reporting to a Foreman, you will be responsible for performing duties as assigned and delivering work according to contract specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment to ensure smooth operation.
  • Operate a tractor backhoe to perform various functions, including excavation, grading, and material handling.
  • Work collaboratively with ground personnel to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with OH&S requirements and regulations.

Technical Requirements:

  • Valid Ground Disturbance certificate.
  • Knowledge of tractor backhoes and other heavy equipment operations.
  • Understanding of computerized controls and electronics.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of tractor-backhoe experience.
  • Valid Class 5 Operators License with a clean Driver Abstract.
