Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic - Millwright to join our team at Heidelberg Materials in Picton, Ontario.

About the Role:

  • Troubleshoot and repair conveying equipment, gas and related equipment, water related equipment, and area plant equipment.
  • Apply all aspects of the maintenance program, including preventative and corrective maintenance, reporting, and more.
  • Maintain, repair, install, and replace mechanical systems and associated equipment.
  • Monitor and perform field inspections on equipment, taking action as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Perform job site assessments and permits.
  • Adhere to our work order process.
  • Undertake other related tasks as requested by Management.
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities and after-shift rotations.

Requirements:

  • Millwright Certification (College of Trades)
  • Proof of apprenticeship
  • Previous experience operating equipment and performing maintenance tasks preferred
  • Previous millwright experience required
  • Knowledge of different types of bearing (application) in rotating equipment essential
  • Ability to perform all technical aspects of the job using required tools and systems
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple correspondence
  • Ability to work different shifts, holidays, and/or overtime as required
  • Ability to solve practical problems and follow instructions
  • Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, reaching, grasping, squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements, use of wrists, use of feet, use of arms, work extended periods in same position, perform duties in all climates, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment
