We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Teacher to join our team at York Region District School Board.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to support students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to provide inclusive and supportive learning environments
- Utilize technology and computer tools to enhance teaching and learning practices
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet their needs
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a collaborative approach to student success
- Valid BC Professional Teaching License
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field, with Special Education certification an asset
- Experience teaching in K-12 schools, with a focus on small groups, one-to-one instruction, and in-class support
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, formative and summative assessment practices, and current best pedagogical practices
- Ability to integrate a biblical worldview into lessons and demonstrate excellent classroom management skills
