About the Opportunity

WSP Canada Inc. is seeking a Co-op Civil Engineering Student to join our Geotechnical Engineering Team as part of the Alberta Geotechnical Group. This position will be based out of Edmonton, with opportunities to support our Calgary team as well.

What You Can Expect to Do
  • You will support our engineers and projects in various areas of our business, including office work and lab/field support.
  • Specific tasks may include compilation and presentation of geological and geotechnical data, calculations, instrumentation data processing, assistance with engineering design, and use of AutoCAD and design/modelling software.
  • Field work may involve providing support for borehole drilling investigations, instrumentation installations and monitoring, and/or construction supervision.
What We're Looking For
  • We prefer a Civil Engineering Student in workterm 4/5, particularly if they have completed soil mechanics or geotechnical engineering course(s) and have a strong interest in geotechnical engineering.
  • Strong computer skills would be an asset.
