About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Functional Analyst to join our Transactional Assets Banking - Backend team at National Bank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for exercising your IT expertise in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand business issues and identify customer and business partner needs
  • Document requests and prepare recommendations for system design or adaptation
  • Perform complex analyses, identify gaps, and make recommendations to optimize system efficiency and resolve important issues
  • Analyze requests for changes in systems, assess impacts on existing applications, and suggest appropriate changes
  • Establish validation and quality control procedures and perform comprehensive testing
  • Provide support for user requests or issues affecting existing applications
  • Produce Target Business Solutions and functional analyses
  • Participate in testing and resolution of customer and application support queries
  • Supervise other resources as required for project implementation or evolving requests
About the Team

You will be part of a large team of 23 colleagues, including analysts, programmers, and testers, and will report to the Chief Director. Our team is known for its extensive experience in mainframes and collaborative spirit. We are modernizing our tools and ways of working.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or other industry-related degree and five years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of the Plant (IBM 390 Mainframe) desirable
  • Experience in banking and/or finance desirable
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology and DevOps
  • Knowledge of JIRA/Tempo/Confluence
  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and time effectively
Language

The primary language for this role is French, with English as a secondary language. You will need to work closely with colleagues outside Quebec.
