Software Engineer Consultant/Expert: Web Applications

Job Summary:

Altair Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer Consultant/Expert to join our team. This is a contract position that requires a strong background in software engineering and web application development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Migrate web applications from desktops and servers to cloud platforms, ensuring seamless integration and scalability.
  • Develop web applications that support the Model e software factory, utilizing Java, Spring, and Hibernate.
  • Deploy, monitor, and support web applications, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Configure and monitor product and continuous integration builds, ensuring efficient and reliable deployment.
  • Analyze complex problems, develop integrated solutions, and implement best practices in software development.
  • Ensure web applications adhere to build and development best practices, promoting high-quality software.
  • Prepare technical documentation for development and test groups, facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Diagnose, isolate, and debug software problems, resolving issues efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience building and supporting C and C++ applications, with a strong focus on web development.
  • Experience with Java web applications, Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate, as well as relational databases MariaDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration tools, such as Jenkins, and cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Linux, Unix operating systems, and scripting languages, including bash, lua, and perl.
  • Proficiency in Ruby, Groovy, and Python, with experience in DevOps environments and system engineering.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • 5 years of experience in software engineering and web application development.
