The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Land Development Engineer - Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our land development group, you will be responsible for managing and supporting staff, completing engineering design for various projects, and developing relationships with industry professionals and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Manage and support staff, including workload planning, mentoring, training, and communication with direct reports.
- Engineering Design: Complete engineering design for a wide variety of projects, with a focus on components such as storm and sanitary services, watermain, lot/site grading and drainage, stormwater management, and utility coordination.
- Business Development: Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals, consultants, and other business leaders to drive the growth of our land development group.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Provide leadership and mentoring to engineering interns and technologists, and provide guidance and mentoring to more junior staff.
- Client Relationships: Maintain positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and prepare technical specifications and reports.
- Industry Knowledge: Monitor industry standards and developments, assess client needs, and make concrete decisions on proposed solutions.
Requirements:
- Completion of a university degree in Civil Engineering.
- 10+ years of design experience on land development projects.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- Design skills with good working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil3D.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French would also be an asset).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, time management, and ability to think creatively.
- Sound understanding of the land development process.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Experienced with project management and has worked in, or understands the consulting engineering environment.
- Working knowledge of modeling software (PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, EPANET, etc.).
- Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
