About the Role:

As a key member of our D-Wave Systems inc team, you will lead a group of talented electrical engineers and designers in developing cutting-edge electronics capabilities for our quantum processing units. Your expertise will play a vital role in shaping the future of quantum computing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the electrical engineering team to achieve exceptional results
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive design and research goals aligned with our development roadmap
  • Plan and facilitate career growth for team members
  • Budget and manage electrical development activities
  • Maintain a high level of technical competence by contributing directly to various electrical engineering projects
  • Foster strong relationships with other teams to develop electrical specifications and goals for multidisciplinary projects
  • Develop and refine design and documentation best practices
  • Interface with operations and service teams to coordinate electrical maintenance and upgrades to our quantum computing systems

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience leading a team of engineers
  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in electrical engineering or engineering physics
  • High-speed digital field programmable gate array experience is an asset
  • Low-noise, high-frequency analog and mixed signal electronics design experience is an asset
  • Microwave design experience is an asset
  • High-reliability industrial controls design experience is an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Strong organizational and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment focused on priorities and outcomes
  • A self-motivated individual with a passion for learning and growth
  • The ability to think creatively and contribute to interdisciplinary teams addressing diverse challenges
  • Professional registration or eligibility to obtain professional registration with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia

  • An estimated annual salary range of $137,500 to $206,000 based on factors such as education, skills, experience, and business needs
