Commercial Litigation Attorney Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Litigation Attorney to join our team at GPAC. As a Commercial Litigation Attorney, you will be responsible for handling a diverse caseload of complex commercial litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents
  • Prepare for hearings and trials
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to develop case strategies and tactics
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts
  • Experience taking business disputes to court, including contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, oppression, derivative proceedings, and property-related disputes

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
  • Admission to the Law Society of British Columbia
  • Commercial litigation experience: 2+ years of experience without a book of business or 5+ years of experience with a book
  • Strong academic credentials, including excellent law school transcripts
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Experience with big law firms preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary commensurate with experience and negotiable based on book of business
  • Discretionary bonus based on performance
