Lead Animation Developer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Animation Software Engineer to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a key member of our animation team, you will be responsible for developing in-game animation features, including animation tools and pipelines, and improving existing animation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the animation team to design and implement new animation systems and improve existing ones.
  • Integrate new animation technologies from our proprietary engine into our games.
  • Take ownership of in-game gameplay features, ensuring they are developed and implemented to the highest standards.
  • Make recommendations to improve animation tools and pipelines, and optimize animator workflows.
  • Support animators by debugging animation tools and helping to unblock them.
  • Mentor other engineering team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of software development experience in the game industry.
  • Experience with real-time animation middleware or equivalent custom/in-house solutions, animation compression, and advanced animation memory management.
  • Excellent 3D math skills and programming experience in C++ and C#.
  • Ability to write clear, maintainable, and portable code.
