Customs Compliance Associate

Harris Geospatial Solutions is looking for a Customs Compliance Associate to join our team. As a key member of our compliance department, you will be responsible for ensuring that our company remains compliant with all customs regulations and laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate trade compliance issues, mitigate risks, conduct audits, and perform self-assessments.
  • Raise awareness about Import/Export Customs / Trade Compliance among internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and improve customs compliance programs for our supply chain network.
  • Interact with government agencies as required to ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
  • Examine inbound/outbound shipment data, identify trends and exceptions, and present findings to drive continuous improvements and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to classify L3 WESCAM items using relevant USHTS and CDNHS codes and verify third-party HTS/HS classifications.
  • Main​tain a comprehensive tariff classification database with HTS/HS, include supporting documentation, and update it regularly for our customs broker and authorized service centers.
  • Support Free Trade Agreement determination, non-FTA origin certification, and record-keeping activities.
  • Oversee Canada Customs-related processes in accordance with corporate policies and government regulations.
  • Monitor our customs broker's activities, services, and performance.
  • Address internal and external inquiries concerning classification, duty rates, documentation requirements, or other import/export customs-related matters.
  • Clear imports and expedite final-mile deliveries.
