Job Title: Specialist Train Dynamics

Canadian Pacific Railway (CPKC) is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Train Dynamics to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of our train systems.

Job Summary:

The Specialist Train Dynamics will be responsible for conducting detailed analyses of train dynamics using computational models and simulations to understand performance characteristics under various operating conditions. You will also implement and oversee monitoring systems to continuously assess the dynamic behavior of trains, identify potential issues, and recommend corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct in-depth analyses of train dynamics using advanced computational models and simulations to optimize train performance.
  2. Develop and implement monitoring systems to track train behavior and identify potential issues.
  3. Collaborate with operations teams to ensure integrated solutions for train performance.
  4. Prepare technical reports and documentation detailing findings, recommendations, and implemented solutions.
  5. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in train dynamics and contribute to R&D projects aimed at innovating and improving rail systems.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Strong understanding of mechanics and demonstrated experience in numerical modeling and analysis of mechanical systems.
  3. Experience with project management, scheduling, planning, and execution.
  4. Ability to execute projects autonomously and independently.
  5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
