Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Peter Green Hall Childrens Centre. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to our young children.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. You will also supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, and lead activities that promote learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers.
  • Lead activities that promote learning and development.
  • Order supplies and equipment.
  • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records.
  • Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Establish guidelines for behavior.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
Requirements:
  • Child development assistant (ECE level 1)
  • Child development supervisor (ECE level 3)
  • Child development worker (ECE level 2)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree
