Description

AFL is seeking a skilled installer to join our team in installing GPON wiring in Multi-Dwelling Units (MDU Residential) and Multi-Tenant Units (MTU Business). As an MxU Installer, you will be responsible for installing fiber lines from Main Equipment Rooms (MER) to each individual suite, placing cables from outside to inside via aerial or underground paths, and operating power tools in a safe manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and install residential and business fiber lines
  • Install GPON wiring in MDU and MTU environments
  • Operate power tools and maintain test equipment
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and conduct Optical Power Meter testing
  • Work indoors and outdoors at customer locations and in manholes

Requirements:

  • Telecommunications experience related to inside or outside plant
  • Experience in building construction trades such as framing, electrical wiring
  • Cabling and wiring experience in fields such as structured wiring, alarming wiring
  • Valid class 5 driver's license and ability to operate Company Vehicle
  • Passion for customer service and strong mechanical, technical, and analytical ability
  • Ability to work aloft on extension ladders or step ladders and operate hand and power tools
  • Normal color vision and ability to effectively handle customer interactions

Working Conditions:

  • Physically demanding work environment
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevation
  • Work in all weather conditions and travel may be required

Work Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Work hours may vary to accommodate developer schedule and overtime may be applicable
