About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maximo Application Specialist to join our team at Bombardier. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for managing and evaluating Business Information Solutions demand, collaborating with stakeholders to identify project requirements, and leading the creation of functional designs to improve or develop standard IT services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a point of contact for key stakeholders for Service business unit.
  • Manage, evaluate, and prioritize the Business Information Solutions demand in collaboration with Core functions and Business partners.
  • Initiate projects, including effort estimation, according to project management framework, in coordination with other IT departments and external partners as needed.
  • Lead the creation of functional designs to improve or develop standard IT (Building Blocks) and services.
  • Translate needs into functional and technical requirements, ensuring completeness of system requirements in alignment with Bombardier strategy.
  • Promote standardization, integration, and foster innovation.
  • Develop end-to-end understanding of business process, vision, and best practices.
  • Support the development, validation, and evaluation of the BIS Solutions against requirements.
  • Elaborate solutions in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture and Business solutions roadmap.
  • Understand market trends and solutions, assess existing solutions against them, and influence the roadmap.
  • Oversee daily operations for assigned area(s) and monitor sustaining activities, projects, and levels of customer service (e.g., performance metrics) for assigned area and report status, issues, and risks to immediate supervisor on a scheduled basis.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise in troubleshooting problems reported by end-users for assigned area(s).

Requirements:

  • Typically 5 or more years of professional IT experience in one of the IT functional areas, which could include previous IT project management experience.
  • Typically 2 years of experience as a working lead and/or supervisor.
  • Experience with Maximo solution as a subject matter expert or senior developer.
  • A proven track record in the successful implementation of Maintenance Management System (MMS).
  • A Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Business, or a closely related field, or 3 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Ability to express technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize, assign, and coordinate workload of team members within a multiple project setting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in teams.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
